First play their Steinway. In fact, visit all 4 other dealers in Dallas that sell Steinway. DO NOT BUY. Bring a person with you to document when you hear and feel. Ask the store to let you play the piano and write down your thoughts. Then test how much knowledge the sales person has on all aspects of the Model B.
Ask them detailed question about their piano. Which company rebuilt it. Mid-west rebuilder, Mexico, Poland, Romania.
Ask them to be transparent as to the profit made on each piano. Most dealers work on 50% profit Margin. Ask the number of hours of service they have put on the piano.
